WDA Sensor

Non-contacting extended range magnetic proximity sensor, not affected by dust or material build up, used to detect moving ferrous material up to 4 inches away from the sensor.

The WDA sensor is designed for use with bucket elevators and conveyors to detect the buckets in order to measure speed and alignment. It can also detect screw conveyor flights, and ferrous bolts when attached to non-ferrous buckets. A more specialized use of the WDA sensor is for broken/slack chain detection (see white paper).

The sensor is used in conjunction with a PLC or with 4B's Watchdog™ Elite or A400 Elite control units. Two output signals are provided: one signal is a pulse output, representing each bucket detected: the second signal is a continuous output when moving buckets are detected.

			WDA High Temperature Sensor The WDA high temperature sensor (HTAS1V34) is for environments reaching temperatures up to +302° F (Continuous) or +356° F (Maximum).









			WDA Sensor Mount The WDAMB senor mount (included with sensor) attaches to the WDA senor and the housing of the machine. A bolt within the mount allows the sensor to be easily loosened and adjusted to the best sensing depth for the application.









			Speed Relay The DIN rail mounted speed relay can be used with any Rotech encoder, and with 4B’s WDA or P800 proximity sensors. A user adjustable underspeed relay contact output can sound an alarm or shutdown machinery when the shaft speed falls below the preset level. See Speed Relay


			Watchdog™ Elite Hazard Monitor The Watchdog Elite is a microprocessor controlled unit with combined belt speed, belt alignment, bearing temperature, pulley alignment and plugged condition monitoring for a single bucket elevator or conveyor. See Watchdog Elite









			A400 Elite The A400 Elite monitors belt alignment on bucket elevators by detecting moving metallic buckets or bolts. The unit can be used on either on or two bucket elevators. See A400 Elite


	The WDA sensor will not calibrate, what is the issue?
	Make sure that the orange wire is connected correctly, this powers the potentiometer (calibration screw).

	Why will the LED on the back of the sensor not turn on?
	Check to see that there are no objects stuck to the face of the sensor (washer, bolts, etc.). Due to the magnetic pull
	on the face of the sensor, objects can stick and interfere with the sensor.

	What if the best sensing depth of the WDA sensor?
	The WDA sensor can detect ferrous targets up to 4 inches away. Keep in mind the distance of other objects within
	the sensing area. For example, a belt splice on a bucket elevator may be longer than the intended target and can
	interfere or hit the WDA sensor.
